George Beck Tribute Dinner
Brothers -
Plans are underway for the upcoming George Beck Tribute dinner on Saturday, April 18, 2009
I'm very excited about the event. Ezra and I are in the process of selecting an outstanding caterer and have already identified the Almas Shrine Temple in downtown DC as the location. It's a large, beautiful dining hall, very nice, very classy.
The room will seat up to 300. I'm writing to ask you, the Brothers of the Council and Foundation -- leaders of our Fraternity, to commit to filling the first 150 seats.
Would you pledge to fill ten seats at this event?
This promises to be an exceptionally fun evening of fraternal fellowship and fine repast. It's important, however, for at least two other reasons: First, Brother, or rather Honorable Brother, Beck has made an exceptional lifetime contribution to the Fraternity. This evening will be an opportunity for us to show him, in modest measure, the extent of the lives of men he's touched and enriched by his years of service. Second, this evening will, I hope, rebuild a tradition of alumni of the Fraternity joining together, across chapter affiliations, for an enjoyable higher-end event, to reconnect with Pi Lambda Phi and, I hope, renew their commitment to the Fraternity through the Foundation.
Would you please, by reply to this email, personally commit to filling ten (10) seats at the George Beck Tribute Dinner?
Guests may be invited. I'm sure you plan to attend and bring your wife/girlfriend/casual fling, yourself. That means you need only get commitments from four other Pilam couples to attend!
Please call or email your pledge brothers (and yes, for most of us, they were "pledge brothers.") from your class, or other brothers from your chapter's alumni association, and ask them to come. If you'll hit up your Yahoo Group, LinkedIn Network, MySpace or Facebook Group, List Server, Rolodex, or L.B.B., I'm confident you can find come up with 10 brothers and their guests who will make the early commit to attend.
The dinner, again, will be on Saturday, April 18, 2009, in Washington, DC. Tickets for the early adopters will be available at a special rate of $100 each. All proceeds will go to the Pi Lambda Phi Educational Foundation.
Please reply to me with your Ten Seat Pledge at your earliest opportunity!
Thank you.
Fraternally,
Jim Feezell
